Cover -- "Integration"
POLICY: Don't take it so damn' seriously. The infiniteness of Man is not reduced to a "split infinity"
by wars, taxes, or "experts" who seek to sell
him what he already has in an infinite amount.
SUB-POLICY: We reserve the right to change our minds
from issue to issue, or even from page to page,
if we desire.
SUB-SUB-POLICY: Each Man has the inherent right to be
his own and only "Authority"
SUB-SUB-SUB-POLICY -- We have no objection to "educated
guesses" about Man's destiny -- if there's no
price tag to It, and if the guesser has no objection to our guessing he's only guessing.
8 much for the pre-T-V audiences. They were auWILL RELIGIOUS THE OTHER day, we heard a man
PATTERN REPEAT who labels himself an " AtheIN SPACE RACE? ist", and a minister's wife in
heated dispute over religion.
From the sidelines, it reminded us of an oldfashioned "Punch and Judy" show -- each speaking
lines that had been schooled into them about
something they knew no more than did the little wooden-headed puppets which provided so
tomatons -- this man and woman -- with invisible
cords running to their manipulators who were
nowhere near -- and maybe not even any longer in
physical existence -- but still, manipulating
their manikins, just as surely as if they'd
been present and behind a curtain.
The sad part of it was that both quarrelers
-- it wasn't an"argument", because the word argument is associated with a degree of reasoning -- were risking high blood pressure over a
subject neither one knew anything about. The
minister's wife dn't KNOW there is a God --
altho she'd been 'taught these was one and it
was meat for her husband's profession that she
maintain this position -- any more than the
"Atheist" knew there ISN'T a God. Neither could
prove their point -- and wouldn't have convinced
the other had there been proof available.
THE PART about the quarrel that ALMOST dragged us into something that was none of our
business, was a statement by the minister's
wife to the effect that the reason we must
"beat Russia into space" was the urgency of
keeping "those awful Atheists" from spreading
their doctrine of non-belief thruout the heavens.
Which shows we haven't improved a whit over
the domineering Europeans who came to the newly -established Americas, bringing with them
their greed for gold and an army of padres with
a passion to spread their bigotry in the camps
of the natives they were bent upon robbing and
enslaving.
